A Nutrition and Training Considerations for Women 40+ talk - Holistic Nutritionist Jess Gjersten
Jess is a strength and nutrition coach at ALC who will provide some nutrition and fitness education to get the most out of your wellness. These key nutritional strategies can be used along with weight training to achieve your specific goals; aesthetics weight loss or gain, increase or maintain muscle mass. Additional benefits also include promoting healthy bones (remodelling), joints, tendons and ligaments. Optimal choices of exercise for this stage will be touched on also.
Laura Powers, Registered Physiotherapist and owner of Higher Function Women’s Health, has been practicing Pelvic Health Physiotherapy for over 13 years. In this talk she will educate on the common pelvic floor and vulvovaginal changes that occur through (peri)menopause, and provide insight on different treatment options and strategies to help with symptoms like leaking, prolapse and painful intercourse. She will also provide practical strategies and exercises to support daily activities, as well as for exercise/sport. Be prepared to try some different exercises and bring any and all your pelvic health questions!!!!
